PROBLEM

The city of Seattle needed a compostable grocery bag design that educates its citizens on its composting guidelines.

SOLUTION

With budgeting needs in mind, I created a simplistic single color design inspired by iconic Seattle city and enviro scapes while portraying what can and can not be composted on the back.

RESULTS

Having sustainable packaging integrated into communities like this results in more composting knowledge, decreased cross-contamination in waste facilities, and eliminating plastic bags in public commercial spaces results in more composting, healthier soils, and therefore healthier communities. This shifts the circular economy as the norm.
